Danielle Geist
Danielle Geist grew up on a farm in ruralPennsylvaniawhere she was lucky to have parents that supported her love of the arts. Studying fine art atMoravianCollegeand art therapy atMarywoodUniversity, she eventually moved toNew Yorkwhere she currently resides with her partner, two rescue cats and closets full of costumes.
Growing up with a strong love of animals, Danielle began to live a more cruelty free lifestyle at 15, eventually going vegan around 6 years ago. In the past, she served on the board of directors for the George Street Food Co-op inNew Brunswick,NJ, one of the few remaining vegetarian co-ops in the country and also volunteers with Farm Sanctuary at various events inNew York.
Along with her fine art work, Danielle currently performs performance art burlesque in the New Yorkscene under the stage name Anja Keister. Since burlesque costuming can be a very un-vegan friendly world, Danielle writes a blog discussing costuming alternatives and her vegan adventures at http://veganburlesque.wordpress.com/
