Antonia Barbano

Sentient Illustration is the art of Antonia Elizabeth Barbano. A Metropolitan New York based ethical vegan artist who studied traditionally at the Accademia Italiana in Florence, Italy and drawing at the Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem in Budapest, Hungary, Antonia received her BFA in Illustration from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Antonia is a dedicated animal-rights and environmental advocate and activist. Her art focuses on but is not limited to subtly juxtaposing the way we think that we relate to sentient beings versus their actual place in our society. Her hope is that we can return to a natural fascination and respect for Earth and all life forms which coinhabit the planet.
As the rampant exploitation of our natural environment increases, what may become apparent is that Earth does not need humanity. Humanity needs Earth. However, compassion is a normal instinct that can be used as a key to our collective survival.
